this crash but if you take a look behind me you can see from our ran stage point at frankford and sedgleyf the crash and rear of the train crash. they have clear crew from his the sidewalk to remove cement barriers so they can move cranes closer to the crash site and attempt to right those train cars. beyond that point the search for survivors continues this morning. cadaver dogs are on the scene and our chopper has been asked to stay 2 miles from the crash site as they listen for survivors. we are told several passengers are still unaccounted for but all this, after an amtrak train number 188 coming from washington d.c. and helpedded to new york city jump the tracks at frankford junction sending dozens of people to area hospitals. the big question this morning is how and why did this happen? just how many people are trapped on that train? those are questions, we are waiting for answers. at this point local, state and federal authorities are on the scene. a press conference is scheduled for 11:00 this morning. that is very latest from port richmond, nicole brewer, cbs-3 "eyewitness news".

we're at the corner of frankford and sedgley. take a look at this video that we shot when we arrived on scene. this is video of some of those passengers actually being treated. they were walking over from the train. it's the first time that they actually had a chance to see this public that was watching them making sure they were okay. we noticed the smell of soot, the smell of smoke. it's very heavy especially because the wind right now seems to intensify that. something else that we noticed when we pulled up is that a lot of these people are being pushed back by police. police are doing a great job of making sure that there's a large perimeter because they keep saying the priority is getting these people to the hospital as soon as possible. that's the priority, not people that are standing watching trying to talk. the priority is getting them to the hospital and right now we're just at one scene. there are several scenes i should mention. we saw maybe 10 or 15 people that were being treated. we're hearing over 50 people so you
