"i know him", he was crazy, i know what you are thinking. and i'm this is him now. i have gotten that response "wow", crust like that. i'm like yes. if he can do it, why don't you think you can. >> reporter: why do you care? >> because of my son. you don't know unless you live this. this is something i wouldn't wish on anyone. through his addiction i'm the person i am today. i'm a better person. >> reporter: sadly carol
