that's why we have a first alert weather day. the day has been nice and quiet but now things are about to change. severe thunderstorms are likely in at least part of the area by the time this system moves through tonight along with some damaging winds and maybe even a tornado or two. the conditions in the atmosphere are more favorable for that than you would normally see at this time of year. the highest risk of that severe weather is in the orange area generally in our pennsylvania counties although there is a chance of this weather in delaware too. i would add much of delaware into that risk as well. we see the storms moving in through central pennsylvania fair amount of lightning developing, but we don't have anything that is truly severe in pennsylvania yet. there were a couple reports of some damage in southwest pennsylvania, couple of hours ago, but really nothing since then. this area continues to move to the east and it's moving into areas more favorable for the severe weather. that's why there's a tornado watch that's is

speaking of the weather yesterday, compared to today, really bad weather, we have those three tornadoarnings out. and the national weather service has con firled that in honey brook and chester county that was a tornado. winds near 95 miles an hour, happened around 2:11 in the afternoon yesterday. it was about 1.5 miles in length from the time it touched the ground until the back of the clouds. locally, we're nice and dry today, any severe weather is far away from us now. we're watching a batch of moisture around tennessee into northern georgia. that moisture will get here but not for everybody. here's future weather. the rest of the evening, i think we're going to stay on the dry side. you'll notice clouds moving in. further south of philadelphia you'll notice a lot more cloud cover in the morning, as you could even see a few light showers developing. as we go closer to noon and the early afternoon, more showers moving in for south jersey and delaware. a majority of the moisture will be staying south of the philadelphia area. through the evening hours i think a lot of this will settl

and the big story is the severe weather threat that is moving into the delaware and lehigh valleys right now, stormtracker 6 live double scan shows you the storms moving in from the west along with rain this system does bring with it the potential for damaging winds. lets go to meteorologist cecily tynan, with the latest. >> monica that potential for severe weather is a big concern, we have a watch posted for our entire viewing area until 11:00 tornado watch for lancaster counties and areas to the west. and lancaster county under a severe thunderstorm warning, we have a line of strong storms beginning to move out of york county, we have seen reports of wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour and there is a bowing of that line showing the rushing wins moving down from higher in the at atmosphere and lancaster and rockville all in the pass of this storm. 16 lightning strikes in the past 15 minutes, you hear the thunder you have to get inside. there is no safe place outside during a thunderstorm. this is the storm timeline the far western suburbs really under the gun for the next hour, the i-
