. >> i'm angie gosk. thank you for joining us. we want to get to the three stories. we start with the district eesz 100th homicide this year. someone shot a man on 54th street in northeast. police say the man was shot several times and died at the scene. no word on who may have done this or why. again, this is d.c.s 100th homicide, so far, this year. that's a 36% spike from the same time last year. in fact, in all of 2014, we saw a total of 105 murders. >>> developing in the district, a barricade situation in the brooklyn neighborhood. a man locked himself inside a home on 18th street, shot and killed a family member, a woman in her 60s. he shot her around 11:00 yesterday morning. shortly after a police negotiator tried to make contact with the suspect. neighbors say the suspected shooter is a man in his 70s. >> i don't know if he knew about his next move, but between the theft of the jewelry and having to vacation, i guess that's what it came to. >> we are monitoring this active scene and in touch with police as they continue to negotiate with the suspect. a good ti
