one of the options that people seem to be liking is the ferry to cross the bay. as we've been talking about, b.a.r.t. is just not an option in and out of san francisco. i happened to speak to a spokesperson and he's saying basically travel is up about 24% between oakland, alameda and san francisco. they are offering up and downed service. lines are moving, but they are long. a b.a.r.t. spokesperson says from there the work is going well. busses are set up around 20th and broadway in oakland moving people in and out of the city. the ride is taking about 20 minutes. b.a.r.t. is still running, but, again, just not in the transbay ii. rider shich is about half of what it would be for a normally day. workers are replacing worn out rails. b.a.r.t. put the word out some time ago that this would be happening. but the ferry certainly is popular. >> most definitely. i would take b.a.r.t. any day of the week. but this is faster and i didn't want to sit in traffic for an hour, hour and a half. >> this is a huge project. it's $2 million. it's just about every piece of heavy e
