nbc 10's aundrea cline-thomas is keeping an eye on things for us in sky force 10. aundrea? >> reporter: we're learning that one person was taken to pres betarian hospital with very serious injuries. we want to give you a new look at the scene. you see a wrecker service has come and a white pickup truck is behind that, so they are starting to clear the scene. that just started happening within the last half hour or so. you see the dump truck still on its side and the trailer has gone over the retaining wall. drivers are being diverted on 28th street, but we take a look out that traffic is backed up for miles. drivers aren't being let back on to the highway, only being let on, so you can see it's stop and go, drivers are being forced to get off, but it is stop and go. if you can avoid the area, that's what you're being advised to do. again, one person is seriously injured, taken to the hospital at this time. that is the latest from sky force 10, aundrea cline-thomas, nbc 10 news. >> long afternoon for all of those people there. >>> the issues in the tiny borough of colwyn hav

nbc 10's aundrea cline-thomas is live for us in sky force 10. aundrea, two hours now. what kind of backups are we still seeing out there? >> reporter: really doesn't seem like it's gotten very much better, jim. traffic continues to be backed up for miles, not just on 76 east, but also on cedar roads like university avenue. westbound traffic into center city is not affected. that is moving smoothly, but a lot of cars who did not know about this accident going eastbound found themselves really stuck. as you said, traffic is being diverted on to 28th street. folks can't get back on the expressway, so if we go to the scene now, you see that multiple tow trucks are on the scene. the dump truck that was on its side is being hoisted on to a flat bed truck, so it could be hauled away. that's good news for drivers. the scene is getting closer and closer to being cleared. crews put sand on the road just as a precaution just in case gas leaked. a tow truck has already removed a pickup truck from the scene that was also a part of this accident, but as you can see, crews are workin

we're live tonight in sky force 10, i'm aundrea cline-thomas, nbc 10 news. >>> to our other big story now. a psychiatrist murdered inside her home. tonight police say a college student obsessed with the doctor stabbed her repeatedly. good evening, i'm jim rosenfield. the suspect called 911 early yesterday morning and confessed to the crime. christopher frick is now charged with the murder of caroline ekong. delaware bureau reporter tim furlong has the latest on the deadly encounter. >> no indication this was going to happen. >> reporter: police say dr. caroline ekong had no reason to expect she'd see this face again. the doctor, most recently a psychiatrist, worked with christopher frick three years ago when he was 18. police say he's been obsessed with her ever since, although they point out it was not a romantic obsession. a half after her daughter discovered her body, frick called police saying he broke into the home and stabbed her to death. they took him into custody not far from the murder scene at his parents' home. >> physical altercation occurred and frick stabbed the victim

nbc 10's aundrea cline-thomas is joining us live from southwest philly with the latest. aundrea?> reporter: well, we're learning from kagan's business partner he was shot in his right side. the suspect was tracked down nearly 20 miles away, right here at this intersection. you see his car, that blue dodge avenger is tistill here at the intersection. now this all happened at 1:30 at the suburban taxi company, according to abington police, kagan and the suspect had an argument about money. that's when the suspect allegedly shot him and fled. here's the arrest from sky force 10. witnesses from the corner store watched the entire thing unfold. they said that they were scared, but that the situation did not cause a whole lot of commotion. >> we saw the police coming over, asked him to get out of the car and he had a gun on his side. then he got out of the car. >> reporter: now at last check alex kagan is in stable condition at the hospital. philadelphia police recovered a .40-caliber handgun at the scene. there was also a woman in the car who is also now in police custody. abington po
