rubio defended himself. senate minority leader harry reid said rubio should resign. not alone, as you heard.back with me, our political panel, kayleigh mcenany and sasha burns. why should the people of florida put up with having one senator. does he have a point kayleigh? >> he doesn't have a point. where rubio is calling out kerry for missing 90% of his votes. there's a double standard there. beyond that, i want to point that senator rubio wants to change washington not be a part of it. senator rubio, a good example of the budget deal this morning. he voted for the budget that raised 80 billion dollars. the only thing is more spending, more excess is changing the man at top. replacing barack obama not with hillary clinton but someone like marco rubio, and rubio understands his calling is to be on the campaign trail and there for the important votes and that's what matters at the end of the day. deirdre: sasha, what is your take on participation, do you think this colors the way that a potential voter would see a candidate? >> i think it adds to a narrative. it's not something that immediate

rubio. harry reid, basically, is saying that he thinks that rubio, marco rubio -- who's, of course, running ent -- should resign. richard, does harry reid have a point? >> you know, i think jeb bush made that point in the debate. i don't think from the democrats' stand point having harry reid kind of pile on helps that. if anything, that gives marco rubio even more ammunition to stiff arm this. look, jeb bush is not going to go down without a fight. remember what his brother did against john mccain in the south carolina primary, all the things he dredged up in the year 2000. you know, kevin mccarthy was undone partly because a colleague of his said let's not promote somebody to speaker unless we know there's skeletons in his closet. i predict we're going to hear about marco rubio's from jeb bush. rubio may be having trouble getting around to voting as senator. jeb bush tried to hit him last night. his home paper that endorsed him hit him for that as well. harry reid joined on that pile-on and said marco rubio should quit be senator because he hates being senator so much he never votes. marco's rubio's having a little trouble being a senator and a presidential candidate at the same time. rand paul is in a whole different vote, though. marco rubio isn't running for re-election to the senate. so it's sort of okay to him if you think he's a terrible senator. he's not running to be re-elected to the not at the same time he's running for president. rand paul is. and that has resulted in there being a norm of pressure on him that nobody else has to cope with. the fact that him continuing his long shot presidential campaign is potentially putting in jeopardy something that he has that the republican party desperately wants to keep. and now that pressure is getting more intense because in rand paul's state in kentucky, voters in kentucky are going to the polls on tuesday. they vote next week. they're having an off-year election this year in 2015 and the n
