[applause] >> he joined ap in saigon at the age of 14 years old. this was after his brother, who is also an accomplished ap photographer was killed during the war. nick is best known for the iconic photo he took of a nine-year-old running naked and badly burned from a misdirected south vietnamese air raid. he won a pulitzer prize for that photo. many of the photos in the book were taken by nick. it is an impressive and exciting panel of journalists, whose experience total decades and are collected in some small part in this wonderful book. help me give a warm welcome to the photographers. vietnam today. we will pretend that is a company you. many in the movement could not afford to treat the vietnam war as the single issue that they would work on. many communities solve the war as connected to poverty, racism, and other issues going on here. in the civil rights it was very difficult for people to just isolate the war as their only issue. you will see that there are connections the need to be made today to connect all people to the movement for peace and justice. the other view that is not here for -- for reasons that you will understand but i think we can include in the conversation by the refugee perspective. as people we don't choose the size of the war that we are in often. as i told helena, now that the book is out, it teaches the lessons and legacy of the flow antiwar movement. with this i will hand it over to john. in 1993 and 95 against current john rooff. you can see all of the mayoral candidate profiles on our website kwwl dot com. a vietnam-era helicopter is getting a fresh paint of coat this week. the cobra chopper overlooking dubuque's veteran's memorial plaza being repainted to look like one actually flown in the war. kwwl's brad hanson getting a chance to talk to the woman who's been doing the painting this week. and brad, this has been a very personal project for this woman. jennifer luedtke lost her dad when she was just six to cancer caused by agent organe from vietnam. so this project has been a great chance for her to honor him alongside every other veteran. the project based on this photo of wayne burk and the first chopper he flew in vietnam. he was shot down in that one, but his second one is now permanentley on display in dubuque. luedtke spent a total of 18 hours working on this paint job. she says it was a great way to remember her dad. painter) "i felt so connected to him it's not even funny. lots of tears while trying to paint at the same time and making sure that you can make it as accurate as possible
