s.w.a.t. teams around the nation. as jonathan hunt was speaking saw an armored car swerving around that looks like the kind that may typically carry a s.w.a.t. team. we understand that tactics have changed over the last couple of of years how to deal with these situations with an active shooter and hostage situations. can you fill news on what may be unfolding. >> sure. thank you for having me in the past, what routinely was done is you set a perimeter, until you were absolutely sure what you were dealing with, and then waited for the appropriately equipped and trained units to arrive. now the focus, if there is an active shooter and the person is shooting people, there's no time to wait. so the police officers are more increasingly trained to go right in when they know where the guy is. so, it appears that from what i'm hearing they don't know exactly where he is, but once they do, if there's any chance that there are people in harm's way, they'll make a dynamic entry and do it quickly when they photo where he is hold u

as i mentioned, the fbi is heading this, but local law enforcement will participate, as well, including s.w.a.t, bomb squad, paramedics teams. they will train not only how to secure the venue, but how to respond to an incident or some unplanned event. now, as simple as it might sound part of today's exercise will focus on radio communications. making sure that everyone is able to get in touch with each other via the two-ways which is very critical when you have an emergency. choppers will also be involved and bring that up in case you are in the area, you can see a helicopter landing in or near the stadium, don't be alarmed. the exercise runs from 11:00 to 4:00 and most of the noise and activity we are told will be around 1:00. so, if you're in the area and you hear some commotion and traffic, don't be surprised. that's the peak time of activity. it's worth noting that the media had been invited to this, but yesterday the fbi canceled the invitation. citing security opal security concerns. not clear whether or not that is in response to the attack in paris. reporting live here outside levi stad
