joseph scott, jessica scott and michael castaneda are facing two counts. one for conspiracy to defraud the government and the other, conspiracy to distribute cocaine. from 2013 to 2014, they allowed drugs to pass through their security area on several occasions. their jobs are described as agents who operate the x-ray machines that inspect carry on bags. the indictments say the federal sting was designed to catch the three. they had what appear today be cocaine in their carry on luggage. court documents state one of the defendants would set up a time and place to meet the smugglers at sfo. when it was time to go through security, they would be through the the line where the others were working the x-ray machines. that way the bag would make it through security without questions though they would know there were drugs in the bags. according to the comes, none of the defendants would ask for secondary screening. very concerning for passenger who's say this is one of many problems. >> it doesn't particularly surprise me. you know. people have access to those

sal castaneda is doing just that. hi, sal. >> good morning.ow we have a lot of slow traffic out there. start with walnut creek. slowing heading down to alamo and danville. and you can see it on our camera here. southbound 680 is not doing that well. i can go to the map and show you that traffic is going to be slow on 680 heading south. there was a wood spill southbound 680 in san ramon. that is not what is causing the slow traffic. maybe it's something that we don't know about. westbound 580 is also slow livermore. and 680 is slow in pleasanton. a lot of slow traffic for you. 880 slows right after 238 all the way down to fremont. highway 101 slow in san mateo. and it slows again northbound 101 up to south sits e. if you're driving to the south bay, all of the freeways jam packed getting into the west valley. 7:45. this say look at the toll plaza. traffic is backing up for about a 20-minute delay before you make it on to the bring. let's go to steve in the weather center. >> that's a pretty big web there and that's a nice web he has going there

let's go over to sal castaneda. things are busy this morning. >> yes. busier than we want it to be.his workweek. let's go outside. the traffic is still busy on many of the commutes. in san jose, we promised you a look. 280 is slow at 17 and also slow at 101. 101 looks like it's solid from 13th street up to sunnyvale. it looks like southern san jose has improved. 85 is moderately heavy as you drive into the saratoga area. we can move the map a little bit and show you that westbound 580 is now getting use between livermore and dublin. and that situation earlier with the jackknifed truck, all of the backup is gop. that is good news. vallejo traffic looks good. you can see the traffic at the san mateo bridge is improving as well. at the bay bridge total plaza, you will see the traffic is backed up before you make it on to the span. >> you it, sal. clear skies out there. but it's cold. 20s to the north. yes, i said 20s. mendocino county and lake counties. after that, 30s and 40s. it will be a little warmer today. but you get to 4:00 and the temp takes a nose dive. a lot of high clouds ye

sal castaneda. >> steve, thank you.ay a lot of people do not have to work. and that is helping those of us who do have to work a lot by driving around the bay area to slightly less volume. let's take a look at some of these commutes. i can show you that between the bridge and the macarthur maze, 19-minute drive time at this time of the morning is very, very good. when you get to the bay bridge teleplays a you will see that traffic is light. a lot of banks and government offices are closed. as we move to highway 4, it's green. green means that traffic is at or near the speed limit. let's go to the bay bridge toll plaza now. you can see that it's very light. so on this middle of the week wednesday, you will see a very nice commute. even livermore, which usually has some of the slowest traffic in the bay area and the pass, we can go back to the maps and you can see that traffic is moving along well. we see some slow traffic out there. i don't want to mislead you. southbound 880 is slow and a little bit of slow traffic on t
