at noon starts now. news at noon front door open good afternoon. i'm megan reuther. thank you for joining us. des moines police are investigating the death of a woman hit by a car halloween night. officers say just before midnight on saturday, 23 year old haley hols was standing outside the car she had been riding in when the vehicle hit her near the intersection of hull and delaware avenues. police say they don't know why she got out of the car. hols later died from her injuries. police say 41 year old sam archer was driving the car and is believed to have been hols' boyfriend. officers arrested him on assault causing bodily injury charges unrelated to the incident. archer is now out on bail. we'll have more on this story on our later newscasts starting at four. a man is behind bars after leading police on a chase through the metro early this morning. it started at southeast 14th and hartford avenue... just before three a-m. officers laid down stop sticks... puncturing the suspect vehicle's tires. that caused the vehicle to come to a stop near southeast 6th and east m-l-k. the driver then ra

at noon starts now. news at noon front door open good afternoon. i'm megan reuther, thanks for joining us. u-s officials say there's significant evidence that a bomb brought down that russian passenger jet over the sinai peninsula... and that isis operatives or sympathizers may have been directly involved. but russian and egyptian officials say they still aren't convinced. bill neely has the story. from the moment the first rescuers arrived, a bomb was one possible cause of the crash. investigators scouring for clues for six days. now us intelligence says the evidence indicates it was likely a bomb. isis has twice claimed it downed the plane. it's shown no evidence. but it's active in the area and us officials believe if it was a bomb, isis may be responsible. it's a strong suspicion, not a conclusion and no evidence of explosives has been found but it's a suspicion shared by britain. "we obviously have a strong desire to get to the bottom of what exactly happened there." no-one is ruling out a technical fault as the cause- the black box recorders are still being worked on.
