after weeks of negotiations to fund the government, the house of representatives passed a trillion dollar spending bill today. the trillion dollar spending package avoids a government shutdown and funds federal agencies through next fall. the bill, known as the omnibus, passed by a vote of 316 to 113. house democratic leader nancy pelosi described the spending bill as a major victory.
