the almost 100-year-old bridge closed last year due to structural problems. now the city has 14 different options for the public to consider to either replace or repair the "green" bridge. the city of waverly is showing off the bridge options at an open house meeting that runs until 7 tonight. the choices range from doing nothing and demolishing the bridge to replacing the historic structure with a modern concrete bridge. a modern "truss" bridge that would look like the current bridge is one of the more expensive options at about five million dollars. "we've got a good cross section of opportunities here it's an exercise figuring out what the public wants to see and what we can following the open house that's going on now the waverly city council will look at a formal proposal on the various bridge plans. a decision by the council could come in about a month. a project that helps women in transitional housing prepare for the workforce is celebrating its fourth year. the initiative is called "empow-her." mount mercy university students in the business group "enactus" start
