this is the 7-eleven at bridge street and oxford. police say this started around 2:30 this morning when a stepfather drove his 6-year-old son to the 7-eleven. police say when they arrived, the stepfather went inside and left the boy in the back seat of the car with the car still running. that's when police say another man got in the car and sped off with the little boy still sleeping in the back seat. he was only in his pajamas. the car was eventually found a short distance away about a half mile away on it 4900 block of leaper street and again the boy is now reunited with his mother safe and sound. happened about an hour after all this started. back out here live on the scene at the 7-eleven in the frankford section, scary 60 minutes for this family. fortunately both the car and the little boy found reunited with his mother. philadelphia police are still looking for a suspect. we will bring you updates. for now, live in frankford, jan carabeo >> great to hear, thank you. >>> new this morning, a fire at the cobbs creek golf course. bridge and oxford in philadelphia. around 2:00 a.m. police say a man went inside, he left his car running to go inside and just buy something inside the store. at the time he left his 6-year-old step-son in the back of the car. unfortunately, the car was stolen by someone, police at this time do not know if that person who stole the car knew there was a child sleeping in the back of the running car. fortunately, about a half hour later police who were on alert in this area looking for the car, it was a 2004 silver honda civic, they found the car running at the intersection of church and leaper streets, and fortunately, inside they found that 6-year-old boy unharmed, still sleeping. sky force 10 is right now over the car that was found. police are holding it so they can search it for dna, fingerprints, for evidence. we were also here at the 7-11 when shortly after that vehicle was found and shortly after police looked inside and found that 6-year-old boy sleeping unharmed, he was brought here to the 7-11 to be reunited with his parents.

two rookie officers found the missing car about two miles away from the 7-11 at bridge and oxford. it was just after 2:00 this morning when police say they got a call from the boy's stepfather he had gone into the store and theft car running outside with his 6-year-old step-son sleeping inside. whoever stole the vehicle decided to leave it on the side of the road at church and leaper street about two miles away from this scene with the boy inside unharmed and still sleeping. >> we're going to print that entire car, get dna evidence, we're now, now that we know the boy's okay and we found the car, now we're going to catch the person who did this. >> reporter: here's video of that stolen car. it is a silver honda with a spoiler and tinted windows, almost every officer in the city of philadelphia was looking for it at some point this morning. actually on our way to the scene on our way to this 7-11 we passed police officers who were stopping similar model cars along the side of the road getting out and looking to see if that was the stolen vehicle. if you have any information about th
