this happened just before 2:30 this morning at large and oxford.olice say the 30-year-old stepfather stopped here at the 7-eleven to make a purchase, he ran inside and left the sleeping child in the back seat of a honda civic in his pajamas and winter coat. he left the car engine running and that's when police say the suspect got into the front seat and took off towards roosevelt boulevard. police were immediately notified. a description of the car was radioed out every minute. state police were called. a half an hour later the car was found on the 4300 block of leaper. the car is being checked for fingerprints and school board for dna. it did help that the car had unique details. the engine was left running so the heat was on in the car and get this, police say the little boy slept through the whole entire thing. >> a lot of distance can be traveled in a half hour and his family told us that he has asthma and that was a big concern and we knew how bad the weather is. if this person would have taken the six-year-old and just threw him out of the ve

bridge and oxford in philadelphia. around 2:00 a.m. police say a man went inside, he left his car running to go inside and just buy something inside the store. at the time he left his 6-year-old step-son in the back of the car. unfortunately, the car was stolen by someone, police at this time do not know if that person who stole the car knew there was a child sleeping in the back of the running car. fortunately, about a half hour later police who were on alert in this area looking for the car, it was a 2004 silver honda civic, they found the car running at the intersection of church and leaper streets, and fortunately, inside they found that 6-year-old boy unharmed, still sleeping. sky force 10 is right now over the car that was found. police are holding it so they can search it for dna, fingerprints, for evidence. we were also here at the 7-11 when shortly after that vehicle was found and shortly after police looked inside and found that 6-year-old boy sleeping unharmed, he was brought here to the 7-11 to be reunited with his parents.

this happened just before 2:30 this morning near bridge and oxford. child was asleep in the back seat of a honda civic in his pajamas and winter coat when his 30-year-old stepfather stopped at the 7-eleven and ran inside to make a pump he left the car engine running and that's when the suspect took the car and took off driving towards roosevelt boulevard. the car was found about half hour later on the 4300 block of leaper. the engine was left running so the heat was on in the car and police say the little boy slept through the whole thing and was not harmed. the car is being checked for fingerprints and swabbed for dna. police saint helps that the car had a unique description and unique details. they were able to radio the description out city wide they notified state police and police credited good work by investigators to find this car and child so quickly. >> a lot of distance can be traveled in a half hour and the family told us that he has asthma and that was a big concern and we knew how bad the weather is. this person would have taken the six-y
