columbia native and r&b singer angie stone was the grand marshal. the parade was followed by a celebration at martin luther king jr. park. the famously hot city is getting a taste of new orleans today. the 'krewe de columbiyaya parade' kicked off this morning near owens field. it was followed by a free festival at city roots urban farm. it was filled with food, a long lineup of live entertainment and costumes of all shapes and sizes. -- a group that parties during mardi gras and upholds the party spirit throughout the year. "we wanted to support city roots, because they were damaged by the flood. it's always just a fun event to bring the kids to and get dressed up and have a good time." there is still time to join the party. the festival at city roots goes until 7. more than 800 runners, walkers and kids pounded the streets of columbia this morning to celebrate the united service organizations 75th the annual m-g-c long run took runners through parts of the capital city as well as west columbia and cayce. all proceeds support the 'uso south carolina
