dave warren is in this morning, he is in but out, he is outside, on market street this morning.re experiencing those big wet snow flakes, first hand. and they were bigger, driving in this morning right along the schuylkill expressway. it is still wet roads but it continues to come down heavier and heavier with the temperatures above freezing, you can see it coat roadways. here in philadelphia red ways are wet, sidewalks are wet but maybe a little further north and west you will see that slush on the roadways. you will still to have clear off your cars by a half inch or inch on the cars this morning. untreated surfaces maybe one or 2 inches and that will continue. but temperatures are the key right now, just about freezing, maybe slitly above. you can still get snow coming down, with these temperatures that are still just above freezing. the roadways though just mainly wet but as that snow comes down heavy on the radar it will quickly start to accumulate on paved surfaces. looking to the south we have temperatures of 33 in millville, at atlantic city at 33. how heavy is the snow

when you're watching good day with sue serio and bob kelly and dave warren will be in.re could be little bit of a lull then the snow come back in and it will be heavy in the afternoon for the rush and into the evening. some mixing to the south and east limiting accumulations there. and then really after the midnight hour, it just really sweeps out and wednesday morning for the morning rush it is dry. now tonight we are looking at a light accumulation by the morning about half an inch to an inch by the time you wake up. i did make some adjustments with new computer models and guidance moving in and pulled this three to six further to the north there are some occasions that higher accumulation go from northern parts of chester county and into the lehigh valley. so we'll continue to update that one more round of information comes in during this show before the end of the newscast. if we have to update this we will. general two to 4-inches you can see throughout the region. philadelphia around four, little bit more and you can see through coatesville into wilmington, newark

dave warren, what a great day to get out. >> yes, absolutely. we did touch 60 just briefly and now everybody is out enjoying it. certainly seeing a nice night tonight. this is a live view atop our building here. the number is 60, dropping to 56 now but also the winds dying down just a little bit so a pretty comfortable night tonight. temperatures into the 50's and few areas right about 60 so still a very mild night. may not even need the coat as you step out tonight. you might need it a little bit later. we'll drop into the 40's and 30's by 11 o'clock tonight so it quickly cools off. now, by tomorrow morning we're starting down into the mid to low 30's like today, one little change not quite as warm. a little front came through, brought in a little cooler air so we should be able to touch 50 but maybe about five to 10 degrees cooler. the concern tomorrow will be the rain coming in. ultimate doppler is clear now but look at this. starting out tomorrow morning, then by tomorrow evening here comes a little light rain, maybe out of here by the morni

dave warren is outside witnessing the city snowfall. we just got rid of the blizzard snow with the rain on wednesday. here comes more. >> it is a little, about it. a little coating in the city. we are looking at wet roads, wet sidewalks. it is coming down heavy but now lightening up. temperatures above freezing. the things are just wet here. the suburbs is where you are starting to see things coat. that is the issue now. the sidewalk here, not much of an issue. just wet sidewalks, wet roadways, that is what we're seeing here in olde city but if that snow is heavy enough, for a brief period of time, you'll get that accumulation even on the roadways which will end, quickly, melt, how about additional accumulation here we are looking at one to two, three to four here across south jersey along the coast. temperatures are key. and snow is we have, and quickly quote's on surfaces one a a quarter in millville, three quarter mile visibility. this show us where that heavier snow is, in atlantic city, anymore snow in the seven day forecast, it lo

meteorologist dave warren is here tell us how cold it's going get and for how long. >> dave, you gotour eye on some more snow. is that true. >> little bit. deal with the cold first. not all happening at once. one and then the other. these temperatures will get cold. tomorrow is the defendant as far as the wind chill and the temperature goes. so tonight and early tomorrow. wind chill advisories wind chill warnings in effect 10 to 20 below for the wind chill. 20 to 30 below in carbon and monroe county that's the wind chill warning. that's what it feels like on your skin so bundle up. frost bite can happen quickly when you see numbers this low. the win dying down just a little bit. still enough where it's bringing even colder air temperatures continuing to drop. seeing numbers into the single digits and likely even a few below zero by the time you wake up tomorrow morning. but this is the number we're concerned with. feels like two below in philadelphia right now 10 below in allentown this is the computer forecast and it continues to drop the numbers by tomorrow morning. 15 below in all

meteorologist dave warren here now with the temperatures. >> it has been done, skiing in it. shirts there, jeans and t-shirt, yes, maybe tomorrow, we have to wait until the afternoon, because it is a big jump in temperatures, right now upper 30's, going down first, right at 31 degrees in allentown, we will be down to about freezing maybe slightly above. but the big jump comes tomorrow. thanks to this. there is the southwest winds, 11 miles an hour. that will bring in a lot warmer air tomorrow. high today of 44, below average, jumping up good ten to 15 degrees, by tomorrow afternoon. just a lyle breeze, big warm up tomorrow, but we are tracking some rain. this time of year you get the big warm up, because the storm is coming in, bringing up warm air, also bridges in little rain. holding off until the ends of the weekends. not as cold tonight, down to about maybe 32, 33 degrees, in philadelphia, then big jump up tomorrow, already well above our high temperature today, by 2:00 in the afternoon, up ear's, closing in on 60 degrees. here's the storm that's responsible for this, up

meteorologist dave warren is here with a look at what exactly we are facing, dave. >> i bet they won't be doing that tonight. talk about the dangerous cold. just as longs prepare for it you should be okay. don't plan to spend a lot of time outside tonight. temperatures are really dropping fast. bundle up before you step out. wind chill advisory wind chill warnings in effect now through tomorrow morning. tomorrow morning will be the coldest 10, 20 below and advisory area. carbon and monroe county down to 20 or 30 below. winds continuing to gust. they've been higher and they're not dying down too much. lighten up a little bit but they're bring in this very very cold air so our temperatures continue to drop tonight. teens now down below zero in mount pocono. what it will feel like is this. single digits and look at how these drop tonight. anything, any exposed skin this is what it feels like and when it gets down below zero like tomorrow morning, 10, 15 below, you can get frost bite in less than 30 minutes. that's why we say dangerous cold. bundle up. layer up, bundle up, reduce the expos

tomorrow from any problems on the roads to your forecast you can watch bob kelly, sue serio and dave warren starring at 4:00 a.m. >> police chase that started in philadelphia tonight. ended with the suspects vehicle partially underwater. the suspect driving a four door jeep at speeds so fast our chopper had a tough time keeping up. we believe to be going down 76 and i-95 the chase eventually coming to an end with the vehicle partially submerged in a body of water in wilmington. police may have been trying to tract suspect down after a robbery at a store in south philadelphia. >>> breaking news out of new york city right now. two officers shot tonight during a drug related investigation. now, take a look at all the flashing lights. we have it right here. this is outside of the housing complex in the bronx. one officer shot in the tour so much the other in the face. both are alive. both are expected to survive. one person died. two are in custody. we'll bring you more information as soon as it comes in. >>> four teenagers now under arrest after series of gun point robberies on the schuylkill

and by 4:00 a.m., when you see sue serio on tv, bob kelly, and of course we'll have dave warren joiningn good day you'll see light snow. but there will be periods during the day where not much is going on. you'll see what's going on with this? are we getting snow? yes. after the noon hour we'll see the radar filling back in and then between about 5:00 p.m. and about midnight we'll see waves of heavier snow moving through. with temperatures still above freezing. so still this wet sticky snow and then it will be moving out by early wednesday morning. when we look at our computer models you can see them range from 6-inches to 4-inches to 1 inch on the european. so we're looking at how much of this will end up melting and during a good day of tomorrow if we have a lull in temperatures continue to warm through the 30s, some of it will melt and not stick to the ground. so we're looking at two to 4-inches generally throughout the region with one to two toward the shore. possibly the south and west of philadelphia going through wilmington, salem county perhaps delaware county, where you can be

dave warren, what are the temperatures? we've certainly below freezing at this point. >> colder there. the thing about the picture the snowfall or lack thereof, to rain we had melted a lot of that snow. still a little bit yesterday, which is melted and now refreezing, because the temperatures are down into the upper 20's and lower 20's if you head north and west. the chill in the air look for the icy spots that didn't draining or dry out has refrozen. 20's but worry headed for the lower 40's. watching that area of rain across texas. that will be our next storm. looks like it stays off the coast but it could be close enough. we'll watch this closely where part of the area by tomorrow night and early monday could be seeing a little bit of rain or snow. for the most part, looks like it's staying off the coast. temperatures today into the four times and dropping tonight but maybe not quite as cold. climbing into the mid to upper 40's tomorrow. so little warmup before that storm gets here. this is the the first in a series of of

dave warren would like that, though. the force is with our weather. > i can handle it, sure. want to be up early today, because that is the warmest part of the day right now. the winds picking up and that's bringing in the cold air. these are the wind gusts. there was nothing earlier, but the artic blast, the wind picks up and brings in colder air. right now we're seeing wind gusts close to 30, 35 miles an hour. even hire in dover. right about now is the warmest that we'll see, dropping throughout the day. the wind doesn't die down. that will lead to a cold wind chill overnight. bundle up annular up because you want to reduce any skin that's exposed. when you talk about the wind chill that's what it feels like on your skin and frostbite when it's this cold can happen in less than 30 minutes when you see wind chills this cold. take some steps to avoid some frozen pipes. drain the pipes and open the facets on the exterior walls because that could be a problem when it gets this cold. if you're out tonight, bundle up because it's cold already. tomorrow morning, definitely bundle
