breaking news on long island. gunfire. connick avenue and -- kat, what are police saying. >> reporter: a huge police presence here, darlene. this is one of two crime scenes that suffolk police are working on. as you mentioned, this is route 112 by jamaica avenue. there are police officers around that gas station that you see there. several police officers down the street as well. it is believed and we want to show you this video that this started with police officers pulling over a driver here on route 112. someone took off and shots were fired. it is unsure if a civilian fired the shots or a police officer. but two people have been taken to area hospitals. we're waiting to find out who the two people are. if it's a police officer or a civilian. there's also a police scene in middle island where police may have taken into custody people involved in what happened here in medford. about a half mile stretch of this area, route 112 by jamaica avenue is shut down as police investigate what happened. >> katherine creag,
