the suspect is joe niemeyer, he' s facing several charges -- including first degree rape and first degree sexual abuse. niemeyer was a youth pastor at the new banklick baptist church in walton. we talked to the pastor there who said people at the church were stunned by the charges. none of the crimes are believed to have happened at the church. in addition to being a youth pastor, we' ve learned niemeyer was also a foster parent with multiple foster children. police say niemeyer admitted the crimes, and that the victim also told police at children' s hospital about the abuse. niemeyer' s home. church says they had done everything they could to try to protect the children there. pastor cochran: we' re very careful over here. we have a childrens department that is well protected. we have someone that is monitoring who goes in and who goes out. all of our people have criminal background checks. we take the precautions. brian: niemeyer is being held on a $100,000 cash bond. live, brian hamrick, wlwt news 5. mark: police say right now there is only one victim in this case. lisa: new developmon
