we're joined on the phone now in northern nigeria. first of all, talk us through what you know and crucially who might be behind this? >> well, the officials--the emergency officials say as many as 56 people have been killed. but officials on the ground i in the area where the took place houses an internally displaced camp where you have 50,000 internally displaced persons from various towns in that local area who live in that area. so the attack happened in the morning as people lined up especially women and children lined up for breakfast. that's when two female suicide-bombers attacked the area. as a result many people died, and officials on the ground are telling us that more than 70 people have died in that attack. dozens of others have been injured, many of them with severe injuries. but the authorities have also arrested a female--a third female suicide-bomber because she realized that detonating would mean that it would affect her mother and father who were in that camp. already, the fingers of blame are pointing towards boko

as many as 70 people have been killed by a twin suicide-bomb attack by a camp in northern nigeria. thlet's speak to ahmed idres who joins us on the phone. what more can you tell us? >> well, it happened on a tuesday morning. >> there was a suicide attack on the camp and a lot of people were killed, as many as 70 people, some who died from the severity officials there are telling us they have been evacuated and now the military has not confronted, and neither did security benefits there. this is coming from officials in the area that confronted the officials in the area. yes, it happened, it was a twin suicide attack. >> the violence involving the group here. are fingers pointing, any real discussion about whether they're behind this? >> yes, they have stepped up attacks on the station. the military has degraded its availability to launch attacks in the area for a very long time. >> we also saw how they also stepped up the operations after the attacks have decided a little bit. so nigeria and cameroon especially over the last last one or two months have taken a lot of heat from boko

we go to northern nigeria, ahmed, what do we know about this attack? >> actually, the attack happened at a time when internally displaced persons, 50,000 live in that camp the information that we have now is the third female suicide-bomber is helping with investigations of exactly what happened and what they're coming from. there was a little girl who could not detonate her device because her parents, both her mother and father were actually living in the camp. so the attack happened, and the numbers of 70, and dozens of people injured those who didn't die in the initial blast died because of the severity of the injuries they received. no one is claiming responsibility, but the group that has lodged several attacks in the northeast of nigeria and other parts of the country in the last six years. >> ahmed, you say that the suspicion does fall on boko haram, and the army is in the middle of a bush against the group. give us little bit of back ground on this right now and where we are right now in the current fight against boko haram and niger gentleman.
