rick sawyer/yard flooded sot sawyer -"because last night when i went to bed it was snowing and i woke up this morning and it was flooded." and.. to add to the flooding concerns.. more rain is expected across the south this weekend. a high wind warning is in effect for the spring mountains including red rock a wind advisory is in effect for the northern half of clark county excluding lake mead and the colorado river valley. expect gusts to 50mph through the las vegas valley with gusts in excess of 70mph possible in the spring mountains and red rock canyon area. there is a slight chance for some rain showers but it's very slight and the vast majority of the rain will stay in the mountains surrounding the valley. at best some areas of summerlin and centennial hills could see some sprinkles but most of the valley will stay completely dry. temperatures overnight will be held warm by the gusty winds and will stay in the mid and will allow for a nice recovery coming on thursday. highs will be cooler than wednesday's but we'll still reach into the low 70s before warming again into the mid 70s
