belen de leon in the weather center with our forecast. hey, belen, things are changing in colorado today? >> oh, yes. already started in the high country and for us tomorrow. we will start to see a bit of that moisture arrive in the form of rain. weather headline. one more dry and warm day. anything you have do outside, looking like a great forecast although a little breezy at times. that snow is going to increase in the high country for today. if your plan is to maybe take turns while that snow is falling, today might be the day for you. tomorrow wet, cool weather arrives in the forecast for us here on the front range. sun is shining brightly. the skies are blue. the temperatures in the 30s. towards the eastern plains 40s. 50 degrees down south in el paso county. colorado springs 20s and 30s in the high country for right now. fast forward to this afternoon. 40s, 50s for higher elevations. we are going to be unseasonably. should be around 50 degrees this time of year. highs in the upper 60s. could see some 70s. very much like spring. here

that is the question. >> i don't know. >> lets ask the expert, belen de leon, in the backyard. those clouds look really cool the downtown area. >> not just yet. the shot we have at rain or snow will be very quick, and our skies will clear overnight. any accumulation in the city will be really light. we got the snow in the high country and it is gorgeous, folks with the day off maybe taking turns, at vail the lifts are closed but it looks beautiful. lets check in with our snow pack numbers state wide. i have to be honest, we have been slipping, in fact, just about a week ago we were at 96%, now 94% state wide. this is just 6% below where we should be this time of the year. i did talk to the folks, they said 94% is still okay. we are keeping our fingers crossed for the rest of the month and april, our 2 snowiest months on average. today was nice, a high of 49 degrees, slightly below our 30s, 40s for the high country and eastern plains, 60s and 50s, right now our temperatures at dia are 49 and out here in the backyard our temperatures are really close, in fact a little breezy unde

belen de leon is in with your >>> happy tuesday, everyone. what a beautiful day really. goes and the temperatures, really nice. it's a little breezy but hold on because tomorrow it's going to get even windier. here's what's happening across the country with your weather pattern. currently we have this upper level ridge that is building into the western half of the united states and that storm track still well above colorado and digging into parts of the south and that's the reason why that stormy weather right now is over parts of the great lakes and midwest. and colorado, it's much drier, we will have a small chance for light snow showers in your extended forecast and mainly for the high country but here on the front range it's remaining dry and it is the start of march. it's usually the snowiest month on average when on average we could see a little more than 11 inches of snowfall and our temperatures start to trend upwards for a normal high and spring starts officially on march 20th and we certainly need the snowfall to start kicking back

our belen de leon has been watching all of this. snow in the high country. they've been really wanting that and a little bit of moisture at least in the metro area, we need that too. >> we certainly did. it was a very interesting day as far as the weather goes. the storm system fell from the north, that's why our colder temperatures were able to mix with that rain to form that the metro area. let's take a look outside. we've been talking about this mixed bag of weather. this is our sports authority high city. you can see blue in the sky with shades of gray. coverage. the storm system has been pushing in from the south. of nebraska. the wrap around from this low pressure system is creating snow in higher elevations and that rain down low. a closer look at the metro area we're done with that rainfall. most of the rain right now is concentrated over parts of well county and morgan county. you see a little bit of that mix just kind of mixed in just north of fort morgan. also snow in southern wyoming and light snow showers in the high country as well. now we're s
