looking at 60s in the city. 61 at bridgeport. 50s when you get from islip east towards montauk. our wind continues out of the south. it had been breezy this afternoon at 15 to 25-plus miles an hour. that will continue tonight and a southwest wind will be gusty as we head into tomorrow. in fact, you can hear the latest wind gusts over 25 to 30 miles an hour as you go across north jersey across long island. let's take a look at the big picture and show you what's happening. we have the wind coming out of the south. the system is heading towards the great lakes. the cold front off to the west here, there's been thunderstorms with it. nothing like yesterday's big severe weather outbreak, but seeing showers and storms. that front will slide towards us. to middle 70s. on the other side of the front, it starts to chill down. minneapolis into the 40s. there'll be a secondary front coming through. that's going to bring the colder air as we get into the forecast for the second half of the weekend. tomorrow's highs jump into the lower 70s. we cool down to 50s and 60 on saturday. then you'l

islip 65. gig harbor 59. the further east the cooler sag harbor couldn't make it to 60. 59, all because of a southwest wind for people, coming in off the land for most of us but the south shore of long island you catch that wind coming in right off the water because again, there's how it would be flowing. so that's the only spot that would catch the cool air. everybody else warm by an air mass that's been traveling over land and this time of the year the land heats up while the water is still on the cooler side. here's what we have in our atmosphere. we have this front that's going to make its way through. and wherever you see those little flashes of yellow and red, there are the possibility for some, you know, embedded thunderstorms as it makes its way through and this is also the same system that rumbled through tulsa, oklahoma and sparked three or four tornadoes. that's not what we're calling for in this area but i wouldn't rule it out tomorrow to see a thunderstorm possibly squeak in as you zoom in tight for our area. clo

islip. cooler on the east end and down towards bridgeport. we're still holding on to warmth inland. it's in the mid 60s sussex to allentown. we're finding upper 50s to bridgeport and 50s off to the east end. little warmer from yesterday, three to five, to eight degrees. it started out of the northeast this morning. we'll see the wind continue out of the southeast to southwest and become westerly as we head into tomorrow. fox 5 sky guardian 3-d, you can see it's a thin line sliding off to the east. these showers probably not going to survive to the west. we'll go through this tomorrow, a similar scenario, but this being triggered by a cold front, tomorrow's scenario being triggered by the upper level storm across the great lakes region rotating moist in our direction. while we may start with sunshine tomorrow morning like today, we'll see more clouds starting around the middle of the day. we will climb into the upper 50s for the lunch hour. back into the mid 60s tomorrow afternoon with scattered showers and a couple of isolated thunderstorms as we head into tomorrow. we'll be cooler

you're at 32 in islip and 32 in montauk. out in the east, es special i let pine barons, that is likely where you see the snow sticking on. that would be impressive to what we have in the city which again should be a about a coating to an inch for most of us. winds are coming from the northeast and turning more north and turn more northwest as time goes on. most in and around six to 12 miles per hour. a decent little storm. again a little too far to the south to bring us a really good punch. if it sat off the coast and wound up and pull ad lot more cold air it would be a more significant winter storm. this is the first full day of spring and we're still talking about snow. what happens is this area of low pressure continues to head offshore but it will leave some snow behind. as far as how much you get? shaded areas. coating about an inch in the gray shaded areas that bisects five boroughs. suffolk county and eastern sections of connecticut you could see three plus inches of snow in localized places this is going on for the morning commute.

east wind developing. it'll be seasonable on sunday as the easterly flow continues. right now in hampton bays it's 41 as well. and 42 in islip. it's 38 in sussex. and it's 40 in bridgewater. so temperatures are slowly creeping up a little bit because of that area of high pressure bringing us the sunshine. but the high pressure is centered over new england. that's a clockwise flow that brings in the east wind. and that east wind is going to keep things cooler. the ocean is still in the 40s. also it's going to bring in a little bit extra moip. remember what it was like on thursday when we had the low cloud cover develop and got misty at times? could see the same scenario play out to a lesser extent today. see t t flow become a bit more southerly. that's going to help prevent developing. but then late in the day we'll ad once of the next storm system. seasonably chilly on sunday. and then on monday up to 60 degrees. rain and a thunderstorm possible, though, especially early in the day. we could have the rain and see the storms develop later. you'll see that on future tracker. the rain moving in by 5:00 a.m. the morning commute
