kara dblbx our jessica brown is live at smale riverfront park with more on how taxpayers could end up paying... live the major problem is that the city spent 120 million of your tax dollars here on the park but the city cant say whether your tax dollars are protected. cincinnati city manager harry black told city council last night in a report that "the city has been potentially placed at risk, financially." vo this comes after black ordered an investigation to be done into the city park bord spending. turns out the city park board used agreements for building repairs and maintenance to construct much of smale riverfront park. the problem is...that violates city law and could the work doesnt hold up over time...because the project was not competitively bid on for more than 80 million dollars in construction work and contractors were not bonded. at this point the city manager says he can't tell which contractor now city hall has ordered an audit of the city park board's spending--that audit should be finished in may. live our team has reached out to the mayor for an interview and have
