megan fitzgerald has some new information from court documents. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, barbara. yeah. according to those court documents, when the brothers arrived here at police headquarters, it says the alleged gunman, michael ford, got out of the car, he didn't know which building to go to. his brothers directed him to the police department. we're also learning about statements made between officers and the brothers in the middle of that gunfight. >> reporter: it was sunday afternoon at around 4:30 when police say 22-year-old michael ford opened fire resulting in the death of prince george's county police detective, jacai colson, while his brothers, malik and elijah ford looked on. >> they had every opportunity to call 911. they had every opportunity to seek medical help. they did nothing. >> reporter: now we're learning how much investigators say the brothers did to help orchestrate the ambush. court documents say 21-year-old malik ford drove his brothers to the police station, while elijah recorded his brother's will to die

the victim's family said they knew there was trouble brewing, megan fitzgerald joins us live now to explain. >> reporter: the mother of tarekka jones says her daughter ended a romantic relationship with the suspect kevin reynolds but said he wouldn't move on. other family members said he was physically abusive. police say it was last night inside that top behind me that reynolds pulled the trigger. >> she's a harmless person. she wouldn't hurt nobody. >> reporter: she was 22-year-old jalisa walls-harris. her family said she was always smiling and loved to sing. she often posted songs on instagram. ♪ but on monday night her aunt says jalisa walls-harris went to the cheverly station apartment to visit her half sister, tarekka jones. prince george's county police said around 10:30, 30-year-old kevin reynolds went to the apartment and shot the sisters. tarekka jones mother returned to the scene one more time. she remembered her daughter. she said her daughter's three young children were inside and the 5-year-old witnessed the murder. the f jones was a victim of domestic violence in her relation
