tonight this man 26-year-old darne nicholas brown is charged with her murder. coleen harry is at police headquarters with more on the arrest. >> it's taken three-and-a-half years but homicide detectives believe they have caught the person who shot and killed a young pregnant teen. investigators today charged with murder and murder of an unborn child. he shot then 17-year-old hawa gabbidon back in 2012. also officers found the teen's body after midnight july 10 in in theresa elder park after police were called for someone shot. for years her family pleaded for help finding the killer. this past january detectives obtained a search warrant for hawa gabbidon's cellphone records and calls were made and received on the phone in the hours before she died. police found her phone charger but her phone was missing from the crime scene. now, they have made an arrest. >> detectives say the man was already in jail. when they brought him over today for questioning. in charlotte, coleen harry wbtv on your side. >> and we know brown has a previous arrest in mecklenberg county
