along with alaska, ted cruz carried oklahoma and his home state of texas by a comfortable margin. 44% to trump's 27%. trump finished first or second in all but one contest, minnesota. where 37% gave marco rubio his only victory night in the state's caucuses and cruz won 29%, trump finished third with 21%. overall, trump came away with the most delegates last night. 210 so far. he's leading the field in the total delegate count with 100 more delegates than ted cruz and nearly triple the amount claimed by marco rubio. and the energy in this presidential race appears squarely on the republican side. with another night of record turnouts in nearly every state, the turnout in virginia and texas more than doubled from 2008. minnesota was up by 78%, continuing a string of record turnouts that started in iowa. and take a look at this. the 8.3 million republicans and 5.5 million democrats voting in nine states yesterday is nearly the mirror image of the 2008 race when democrats turned out 8.2 million and the republicans turned out 5 million. >>> now to the democrats where hillary clinton solidified her front-runner status with wins
