rick leventhal is with us. so far so good. the new york state police helping out with security here in front of the fir niagara center. a few hundred protesters. we'll give you a quick lay of the land. the last few stragglers are going down to the end. they are strict inside. each attendee is screened by the secret service. they were told they could not bring food, banners, backpacks. you can see from the 200-300 protesters gathered across the street. there are strict procedures in place. the protesters being kept on the other side of those metal barricade. the trump supporters are being walked in on this side of the barricades. one of the big goals of the police department is to keep a separation between the protesters and supporters. the last two days we have seen issue when the two side came together. we talked to these people about why they are there and why they are protesting donald trump. >> i can't see donald trump representing america. he's a womanizer. i'm not afraid of black people or mek cans or muslims. >> i want

rick leventhal is in the middle of those protesters as always. rick? >> greta, so far so good for the city of buffalo police, state and local agencies helping out with security here. can you see a line of officers between us and the protesters. i want to show you the first niagara center and what's happening here. a very strict security procedure in place there are stragglers still making their way inside who are being shuttled through metal barricades and through the front doors where they are greeted by secret service who are handling the screening here. these people, we're told, cannot bring any food or drink, certainly no weapons or bags or backpacks and no science or banners there are plenty of signs and banners across the street. protester, 200 to 300 of them at least being kept behind metal barricades. police forming a line between those protesters and the trump supporters who have been arriving here since 4:00 this afternoon. the last three hours they have been showing up. the official estimate somewhere around 7,000 to 8,000 people inside. aga

fox news correspondent rick leventhal is live in the middle of it all. rick?reta, the nypd just closed the sidewalk here at thegoorner of 42nd because a large group of protesters on the move came here with the intent of walking down lexington towards the side entrance to the grand hyatt. you see all the officers in the street there. there is actually some pro-trump protesters across the street there here in the middle of the intersection a lot of nypd, some of them with zip ties ready to arrest people if they try to block traffic. they have created these pens with barricades for the protesters to gather. across the entrance where you can see dozens more officers. some of them right there with the zip ties as i mentioned. they are a tactical team. they have been on the move responding to potential areas of problems out here. right nowh-9÷ things have been very calm. you can see that the main group of protesters up here gathered directly across the street. they say their goal is to disrupt the activities inside. as you heard griffjá jenkins mention, some of them

and fox's rick leventhal is also outside of trump tower but rick is in the middle of anti-trump protests? >> well, greta, the nypd is prepared for anti-trump protests but so far there haven't been any that materialized here on fifth avenue. we will give you a look at the outside of trump tower encased in gold here on fifth avenue between 56th and 57th streets. there are certainly plenty of members of the press here on fifth avenue. you can take a look down the street. local and national and international press, including fuji tv right next to us here. take a walk down the street to show you what's happening on fifth. we have a lot of tourists stopping by to take a look at trump tower. and a lot of barricades which the nypd has been setting up here on a regular basis to ensure that if there is any trouble they are ready and prepared for it we do have plenty of officers here on the street and the cross streets in on fifth. but, again, right now, greta, we are kind of surprised that there have not been any organized protests here outside of trump tower. even though the candidate is inside.
