for more on this stop trump movement which we've been talking about, kasie hunt joins us from indianapolis. when we look at the stop trump movement, there's been a lot of criticism, frankly since wisconsin that it sort of stalled and it's not worth spending money in places where we can't have an impact. is there still momentum with the movement at this point? >> this is really the last stand in so many ways for the stop trump movement, erika. they are of course continuing to be up on the air here in some cases trying to help ted cruz, in other cases with negative ads against donald trump but i want to go back to something you were talking about a minute or so ago and that's these remarks that john boehner made and the reason why this matters here in indiana is that you know, john boehner and ted cruz, it's not just they don't like each other. ted cruz want to the mexican restaurant to essentially plot a revolt against john boehner and would go into private meetings on the senate side and take stands that frankly alienated all colleagues, this is more than just they don't get along. there's

tony joining us from indianapolis this afternoon. blackwell is one of those in the principles pack. we just heard from tony the word "desperation" from one of the other voters we spoked to and learning two voters so turned off they're now going to vote for trump. that is not exactly the outcome this alliance had intended. you look at this plan put together by the cruz and kasich campai campaigns, is it too little too late? >> i don't think so. at the end of the day, this is about mutual self-interest. those campaigns saw it in their mutual self-interest to stop donald trump where they can do it individually most producti productively. so, in fact, they decided where they would spend their resources and where they wouldn't. as a consequence, this is all about 1237 and stopping donald from getting there. i think that will happen. i think he will not get to 1237. he's going to have a decent day tomorrow where there are 118 delegates at play. but then, as you have mentioned in your reporting, indiana is ground zero. i think donald has hur

she joins us from indianapolis. kasie, pick up on that point. luke was making there. something i've been thinking for a while, too, to listen to stop trump forces, they'd have you believe anybody that wasn't on board with donald trump a month ago, is automatically on board with pulling out all of the stops through the convention to stop him. some of the things we're seeing and hearing on capitol hill indicate there's a lot of wiggle room for trump to make inroads with people who may not be supporting him yet. >> reporter: there's plenty of room. and part of this is because the stop trump forces are frustrated with the candidates runling against trump, candidates are frustrated with the stop trump forces. it's almost as though they're turning their guns on each other. part of this in that a.p. report you pointed to is about money, right? john kasich, a candidate who a lot of the more establishment types could get on board with and of course kasich feeling like they should get on bort with him. they're not giving money to him. the donors that gave to jeb bush, they gave

he joins us live from indianapolis where the republican front-runner held that rally yesterday. we're learning about new developments in morning involving the trump campaign. what can you tell us about those? >> reporter: so, we're sort of been talking about trump 2.0 for a while now. now we're really expecting a different tone when it comes to victory speeches and the policy speech, first of which we've learned will happen next week on foreign policy. and as well we've learned he's hired a speechwriter and practicing with teleprompters, totally new. something important to realize about the tone of donald trump, in the rallies, wherever we go, even after a more presidential sounding victory speech, we always see him return to the same old trump. and we think it's on purpose he's been asked about this before. for example, why did he not say lyin' ted and not say senator cruz instead. he said i don't want to look like that and say that name with all of those people watching. on bigger stages when he's going to do a policy speech and at apec, he's going to sound different. we'll see

joining us from indianapolis now nbc news correspondent hallie jackson is covering the cruz campaignporter: hi. i had an aid tell me it's similar for them heading into indiana the way they felt about going into wisconsin, but there's a big difference. right. an acknowledgment from the campaign that wednesday and thursday, tomorrow and thursday are going to be important days for them. they know that the narrative coming out of tonight's primaries will be difficult for them moving forward. just like it was before wisconsin. the difference is there were two weeks to sort of adjust and shift and get on the ground and try to get momentum before wisconsin. there's only seven days before the indiana primary. there's concern it's a shortened timeline that ted cruz has to get out and be on the ground. they're not feeling great about southwest indiana. that's an area they believe donald trump could do well. they're confident they could pick up enough delegates for a win, at least at the moment. it remains to be seen how the alliance with john kasich is going to play out. you've been talking ab

fact, "the indianapolis star" called all five candidates from both parties in the race right now disappointing. tim is the editorial director from "the indianapolis star" and he is joining us right now. thank you for being here. before we get to the editorial, get your reaction to this announcement that governor mike pence will be endorsing ted cruz. what do you make of it? >> it's big news. the governor is well respected among republicans in indiana still. he's had a tough couple of years in the general electorate, but it's a significant move for cruz. cruz is working the state very hard, as many have said, he has to win indiana on tuesday. polls showing him close but still behind. i don't know how much this will actually make in terms of voting, people coming out and voting for cruz on tuesday, but it does dominate the news cycle, and it starts to help him build some momentum in the state that he has to have. >> you get the sense this did not come easily for governor pence. it didn't come early, that's for sure. all the candidates were working him, and up until a few days ago, he had said he wasn't sure he was going to endorse. what do you think changed his mind? >> he's

we are joined by ceo john lechleiter from his headquarters in indianapolis. thank you for joining usthe story behind the numbers. lilly'srespect to eli first quarter, we were pleased to see 5% revenue growth. if you factor out currency which was a topline headwind our revenue actually grew 8%. this was a big turnaround after a number of years. we really took a big hit from revenue declines driven by expiring patents. of that topline growth came from the sale of new product. we launched six new medicines starting in 2014. we have two others currently under regulatory review. , therespect to humalog underlying trends looks solid. this was a one-time event in the first quarter that really represent catching up with prior discounts and rebates as those invoices came in in the first quarter from prior periods. if you look at prescription growth trends for humalog in the u.s., things look quite differently. we remain confident in that product. david: as far as existing drugs you say this is really a story of drugs that are protected by patent. ofch of the main drivers revenue and margin fo

us at the convention. >> i will. thank you. >> woodruff: now let's drill down into that indiana primary next tuesday, even more important given the dance for delegates. brandon smith of indiana public broadcasting joins me from indianapolis. brandon smith, welcome. so we know the indiana primary is important. let's start with the republicans. what does this race look like now between donald trump, ted cruz and john kasich? >> i think the conventional wisdom around here was that this is a state that ted cruz would do very well in but there haven't been a ton of polls done yet, but of the few polls we have seen, donald trump consistently has a lead in all of them. the amount of the lead varies but it's been between 4% and 8% in every poll wve seen. >> woodruff: what is driving the voters? do you get a sense of what they're interested in, why is trump doing well? >> primarily economic issues in indiana. the state's unemployment rate has developed significantly in the last few years but wages haven't followed. it's a heavy, intensive manufacturing state, one of the most manufacturing-intensive in the country and certainly trump, when the news was carrier was leaving indiana, cutting 1400 jobs, donald trump was out in front o
