we put on monthly workshops. primary purpose of this is to encourage socialization to get people to get out and spend time with people. seniors can learn new food habits, new information about breast screening, blood pressure, health issues. we have these health related workshops to improve nutrition and health as well as spend time with other seniors. independent living skills is another thing that we teach. we find that technology needs to be introduced to some of these seniors who don't know what to do with the device and you know have no idea what steps to take even how to turn on a computer. we teach them how to use a remote for the videophone, we teach them how to connect with the computer, we solve these problems one on one and teach them how to deal with this technology and improve their lives. everything i have said thus far is that deaf with a capital d that joanne was talking about earlier. the next program i will speak of is a little bit different, however. the hard of hearing and late deafened commun
