kathy. >> good afternoon.in is out of here moving offshore with a few spotty showers through interior south jersey but look at that dry line. the sunshine moving in to our north and western suburbs and most of us seeing that sunshine before sunset. as we take a zoom in you can really see where those temperatures are warming. where we have the sun in reading and lancaster. still have the clouds. some sunshine through high clouds moving into wilmington up to 70 degrees philadelphia 68. that's the high for the day the same in pottstown. allentown 69 degrees. the dew point is that true amount of moisture in the atmosphere and when we see dew points in the 60s that's actually humid and you'll notice that as you head outside. but in places like lancaster and also read wrack that drier air and those clearer skies are moving in, that's where we have those lower dew points it will be much more comfortable later this evening as that dry air work its way into philadelphia and south jersey.

meteorologist kathy orr is tracking more of the same right now. hey, kathy. >> i know it's like we're caught in a rut and it's been that way fort entire month. i looked at all of the numbers and temperatures well below average for about 90% of the month so far. on ultimate doppler you can see the whole eastern seaboard seeing a lot of green on the radar screen as we get little closer, still seeing some showers along that any of i95 corridor. most of this focus through south jersey and as you head down the shore. as you can see on our triple sweep not a lot of rain if you're heading down to the phils game in south philadelphia. we do have some showers but they will be ending within the next hour or so. so if they will play in a little light rain and mist the game will go on. you can see through philadelphia some showers. mt. laurel little bit to the south toward tabernacle heavier rain as well in gloucester and burlington light showers over in norristown and over in pottstown as we're drying out. a little bit of a bell curve in temperature today. s

we'll start tonight with meteorologist kathy orr. kathy? >> it's coming in like a freight train and this train is a little bit ahead of schedule. suing he all the lightning associated with a frontal boundary that is slowly moving toward the east. an area of low pressure to the north. all of this is moving toward the northeast with a lot of lightning and very heavy downpours associated with it. you can see heavy rain already falling in chester county, in through delaware county heading right into philadelphia. over our studios in a matter of minutes. moving through montgomery county and into bucks. so lightning associated with this as we continue to count about 100 to 120 lightning strikes in this area alone. so frequent downpours, also, lightning, the possibility of small hail but nothing severe at this point. you can see it's tredyffrin, aston, abington heading into philadelphia. already northeast philadelphia. it will continue toward the i-95 corridor as you head up toward trenton. forecast rate rain amounts in the next 12 hours will tota

kathie lee, we're going to make a pesto. i have anchovies in there already.iving a long life is not getting sick. >> don't get sick to begin with. >> so there's mint, a clove of garlic, immune system. >> are these sesame seeds? >> no, chili flakes. olive oil, throw that in there for me. i'll get this locked up. then we deal this with fish so you can omit the cheese if you want. so throw it in. >> dump it in? >> dump it in. we got some pine nuts and a little bit of vinegar. and then literally all we do is buzz it up. pulse, pulse, pulse and we get this beautiful little pesto here. so this is a nice little pesto and that is great with fish so we're going to do some fish. so we'll season this up, some sea salt on top of the fish and then i'm going to add a rosemary and, again, right on top of the fish, this will get grilled in so get good fish, a little bit of lemon zest, drizzle of olive oil, then it goes on to the grill. this is what we're looking for, something just like that. and then serve it with a little pesto here. >> just pour the pesto on top? >> i've

fox 29's meteorologist kathy orr is here. kathy washington you got?> we have a washout of a frid friday. it is going to be a soaker for sure. you can see for the evening we have a few passing showers all of this moving inland with a persistent northeasterly flow if the kids have softball game, lacrosse game soccer this evening it should be a go but tomorrow is the really wet day. this is a developing coastal storm and now it look like it's going to add little bit of insult to injury with the track of this low. watch as we go from friday and into the weekend. first we have rounds of rape being pushed inland, and then this low actually retro grades or pushes toward the land. very unusual but it is known to happen. so this means the rain will linger into the weekend. unfortunately. now, we do have coastal flood warning in effect for the jersey shore. for times of high tide and advisory for the delaware and also the rancocas. high tide down the shore between 7:30 and 9:00 p.m. it will be overnight for the delaware. so delaware avenue early tomorrow mornin

kathy?> it's beautiful afternoon, iain. yeah, we have a bit of a breeze and mostly cloudy sky but everyone is outside enjoying the weather. at least it's mild for a change. we do have some showers that are very close, though, take a look at ultimate doppler. ing see to the south through baltimore and washington, delaware and jersey but they are fading. this is a front that is sagging to the south, and it is going to stay there for now. right now in philadelphia 66. 64 in pottstown. 68 in trenton. more sunshine as you head up the northeast extension into lehigh valley. winds out of the southwest in philadelphia up to 16 and wrightstown westerly at 15 and these breezy conditions will pretty much die down during the evening period. so for your 7:00 o'clock temperatures staying at 66. mostly cloudy and breezy. still mostly cloudy at 9:00 o'clock. but clouds and cool temperatures by 11:00 o'clock the temperature only 58 degrees. we are going to watch some showers with that front to the south move

let's check in with meteorologist kathy orr. >> late this afternoon, iain, the clouds gave way to some sunshine, and we have wind helping warm us up as well. we've been in the persistently flow you can see this big counterclockwise swirl that area of low pressure that gave us clouds and rain yesterday is pushing toward the northeast and all that storminess really through new england and eastern new york. for us, spotty shower went right down the expressway otherwise not a lot to report just some scattered cloudiness. in philadelphia we bumped it up 1 degree last hour to 83. it's 82 in wilmington. 69 in the poconos. 83 degrees in allentown. winds out of the west sustain at 18 miles an hour and that helping to warm us up. this evening temperatures falling to about 78 by 7:00 p.m. a spotty shower more like an isolated shower for the evening. partly cloudy at 9:00 o'clock, partly cloudy still mild in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees at 11:00 o'clock. feeling much more like may. coming up we'll talk about how long the sun will be sticking around only see the warmest temperatures yet for t
