doug mcelway is live in philadelphia with more. >> reporter: yeah, you're right, yet another mass shooting, this one in munich yesterday. it shines a lot on the random risk it is that we all face and it also shines a light on the tremendous pressure law enforcement is under to get it right here at the democratic national convention. i had a chance yesterday to do an interview with the secretary of homeland security jeh johnson as he toured the facility to examine the security preparations and i noticed having seen this man at several hearings and several interviews that he appeared to be a bit more nervous than he usually is. completely understandable given what is at stake here. yet he expressed a lot of confidence in the preparation, security preparations under way here. >> this will be a carefully organized thorough security event. but of course it's always against the backdrop of world events. so we have to be vigilant, cautious, thorough and careful. >> reporter: one thing johnson told me is that this area is easier to protect than theentio. we're doing something a little unconvention

. >> doug mcelway is in philly where the frustration is at the tipping point and it's going to be hotecause of what's happening. >> reporter: that e-mail scandal, you're right, bernie sanders is set to speak at the convention on monday night. and early indications are that he may try to tamp down some of the increasiveness that we are seeing as a result of this e-mail scandal. his staff sent out an e-mail this morning, describing what his speech will be all about. he plans to, quote, rip into trump, not debbie wasserman schultz, but trump for siding with the koch brothers and echoing claims that climate change is a hoax. that said, this e-mail scandal by gooseifor 2.0, he first hacked into the e-mails and provided them to weeks, is doing some serious damage. and it's not certain that sanders supporters are going to be so forgiving, as sanders appears to be. already, we've seen protests at the miami rally, where clinton introduced her running mate as senator tim kaine of virginia yesterday. and there are now reports that debbie wasserman schultz will be denied the speaking opportunity
