" i did not see a lot of kids walking in with their dads, i saw a lot of moms and moms have been holding it down for a long time and it's time for men to step up so i thought it was important for all of these young kids to see strong male role models here with them. the volunteers are asked to come back to the school to read a book or hang out with a student at least one more day out of the school year. back to school is an emotional time for parents. some just can't watch their babies leave the nest...but others can't wait to get them out the door! for parents on either side of the emotional roller coater. a valley mother hosts a "hankies and mimosas" back-to-school get together every year. guests either get a hanky if they're sad... or a mimosa if they're in a celebratory mood.
