much, candis.ery pleaseand gentlemen, welcome back to the stage randi driscoll singing "what matters" for the matthew shepard foundation. randi: you made it. you are here. you are beautiful. this has been an amazing day of listening to speakers, people sharing their stories. i know from my work with judy shepard -- oh, my gosh, over 15 years -- that she shares her story over and over and over many of youshepard, know, the mother of matthew shepard, killed in a hate crime in wyoming in 1998. it's hard to believe we are still talking about hates, but we are going to keep talking about it until we don't have to talk about it anymore, right? yes. but i know from being a year friend of judy's now, watching what she does over and over and she getsn, in one way to speak about the love she has for her child by telling matthew's story, but every time she does, she changes a person's mind, she changes a person's someone,e speaks to she helps create laws. my relationship began with judy in 1998, which was the beginning of my understanding that as a songwriter, sometimes we can share our feelings
