senior airman michael -j- buras made the ultimate sacrifice for his country in 2010. fox5's peter dawson joins us live from nellis air force base with more on today's events. ordnance disposal technician assigned to the 99th civil engineer squadron here, enlisted in the air force in april 2006, and after completing basic military training at lackland afb, texas, he graduated naval eod technical training in march 2007 at eglin afb, florida. he arrived at his first, and only, duty station at nellis afb where he immediately began his journeyman skill-level upgrade. no stranger to afghanistan, he times in his short career, twice to bagram airfield where he was assigned to the 755th air expeditionary squadron, explosive ordnance disposal flight, operating location alpha. during his second deployment in may 2009, he received the purple heart for injuries sustained during an ied explosion on his armored vehicle. during his third buras lost his life as a result of injuries suffered when a roadside bomb detonated nearby.
