agents from the national transportation safety board are investigating why the piper cherokee crashed right after take-off at reno- tahoe airport sunday evening with three people on smashed into the airport parking lot. among the three who died was 45 year old ed mumbert, a long- time bail bondsman based in the south bay. his death was confirmed by family pastor dick bernal of jubilee christian center in san jose. pastor bernal also shared these photos. mumbert was bringing back a client he had hunted down after skipping bail.
