dave sanders, one of 13 people killed by two gunmen at columbine in 1999. now that survivor is a high school teacher and coach himself. jennifer brice is live at clement park and he wants his team to join in honoring dave sanders' memory. >> reporter: and this really is such a neat story and inspirational. a memorial here is being held in honor of dave sanders, the coach and teacher killed in the columbine attack. people are out here getting ready to run in the races, or they have run in the races. this year we caught up with kyle nickel son who is a survivor of columbine, and he brought his kids to run in the event and to see the memorial out here at clement park. this was a special moment for him and his students. an opportunity for them to see a and honor the man who saved his life. nickel son credits sanders for saving his life on that day and other students that were told by sanders to leave the cafeteria and get out of the school. he also went on to become a teacher and coach and thinks about sanders every day. >> i can't not. every day i'm so gratefu

seeming to glorify the columbine shooters and other mass shootings is concerning some parents. it really has. multiple people have shown us a linked account on youtube and a gaming site called steam. they say that profile belongs to the jefferson student. police are checking things out and haven't confirmed anything yet. but, the content we're about to show you might be unsettling to some. jefferson, this video was published on youtube. it's two minutes of students walking through the crowded halls of that high school. totally innocuous by itself, but when you see what else the user uploaded things get scary. nat game you're looking at video game simulations of actual school shootings and mass murders. the profile picture, an image of the virginia tech shooter, cho seung-hui on the connected steam account, the user appears to one of them at a school. all of this stuff online has some jefferson parents worried a mass shooting was being planned, perhaps involving multiple shooters who still want to carry it out. >> reporter: well, the 17-year-old suspect referenced a columbine style attack in his threat. balls of that police went to his home to look for weapons but didn't find any. because of the threats, the department of public safety beefed up security at fremont high school today. investigators say the 17-year-old admitted to making a threat on instagram, targeting about 50 jewish students. a captain with the department says the boy referenced columbine in his instagram account profile and attached a photo of the mass high school shooting. >> we take it extremely serious. you know, that's why as soon as we got the threats we had two detectives involved in the case immediately. we called them in, had this work on the case. we did everything expedited. >> reporter: students we talked to were surprised to learn of the threat. >> i was surprised because we're a diverse population at fremont, and i didn't think any jews would be oppressed like this. >> rabbi says he is glad the school took the threat seriously. >> i was very, very happy to hear that the administration was very proactiv
