coming up from sing sk, eastern north carolina -- south carolina, eastern north carolina, this is hermine, has winds at 50 miles an hour, that strength is expected to maintain, while it's inland until it gets back offshore, willmington, north caroli morning, passing hatteras, as we get in to tomorrow afternoon. virginia beach, they are facing directly in to the winds, the water is going to pile up, some of the storm surge could be 4 to 6 to 8 feet. sunday, expecting east of ocean city and the beaches here. 70, maybe 75 miles an hour this storm, an l, not a hurricane symbol, that's going to be because it's going to transition to a post tropical storm. the impacts are going to bex tense wife the winds -- be extention extensive with the winds and the waves. this is a spaghetti plot. somebody threw the spaghetti up against the wall. the storm will be around for several days with all sorts of problems. storm surge, went long island sound, could be five or six feet as the winds move that surge, locally higher inlets, catches the water, this is going to be a long term problem there, in to the fi

eastern portions of south carolina. arrives here in the eastern portions of north carolina. around 2 a.m. tomorrow morning, winds still about 45 miles per hour with this system. as we head towards tomorrow afternoon, it should be back in the open atlantic pulling away it will weaken considerably, losing a lot of its tropical characteristics as we head into later this holiday weekend into early next week. but really won't be an issue for many folks up and down the east coast by that point in time. let's get to watches, warnings, advisories all in effect. we have a number of them here around central and eastern north carolina. first, i want to start you off with this tropical storm warning in effect for a lot of eastern north carolina including wilmington, new bern. a lot of our beaches out towards the outer banks as well. i know head to the beach for labor day weekend: give it today. tomorrow will be considerably drier. we have a flash flood watch that will go into effect later this afternoon around the triangle, already in effect down around the sand hills. 2 to 6 inches of rain possible

the center line remains over eastern north carolina. it hasn't shifted much as we put up a drone line from earlier today. so not a lot has changed unleak yesterday. so theai concern. as we pick up the weather map, here this comes in from the south spreading through the triangle late in the morning. heavy rain for a good portion of the area from lunchtime through most of the afternoon, through most of friday night. there's the eye of what would be a tropical storm late friday night. friday night and early saturday morning rain continues and it wraps up saturday morning. some of the cloud also stick day saturday, just not perfectly sunny. look at some of the computer model rain projections. we'll look at the whole group. that's a high amount of rain. we don't often see that amount of rain. on average our forecast is 2 to 5 inches. that's why everybody is under a flood watch, because we could see flooding with this. winds wouldn't be as bad as what they're getting in florida by the time you get up saturday morning, it will be breezy, not r

remnants of it still have been floating around now for quite a while and dumping rain in eastern north carolina and southeast virginia and some heavy amounts of rain, even up to a foot in a few places has fallen. but as has been the case all along it's not actively moving northward. it's just sitting in place but those high thin cirrus clouds that we have are really the edge of what's the moisture that's well to the south but it's certainly not having a we have karl which is actually down to a tropical depression but it's starting to look more impressive on satellite imagery so i suspect it will become a tropical storm president it will make its closest path to bermuda in four days but it looks like it will probably take a right turn as it gets closer to bermuda. might get some fringe effects. the other storm, lisa, is not really that strong and that's far out in the atlantic. doesn't look like that will get anywhere near bermuda or the in boston. 70s and low 80s around. another nice mild day but lower humidity today. if you sense a difference especially from late morning through the afternoon

but i do not expect a lot of damage in eastern north carolina and south carolina. s go down and stuff like that but there won't be widespread damage. i'm really getting more concerned what happens as this storm, it's weak exiting north carolina then re-energizes itself. it's almost going to be like the equivalent of a nor'easter sitting off the mid-atlantic coastline for four to five days. sunday to wednesday. i mean when you get a stalled out storm nothing good can happen of it. the winds remain consistent. the water piles up on the coast. every high tide cycle the beach erosion is going to get worse and worse. so there's major concerns for all the coastal areas from the norfolk, roanoke, rapids area famous for their flooding. you're very concerned there. all the back water bays and chesapeake back up through especially new york new york city could sit in a horrible spot with a storm to your south, east wind piling up water to the long island sound. we could have major flooding. i mean we could see water levels rise five feet higher than they normally should be. th
