we've got an upper-level system to the south and west of the surface low, and that upper low is going to -- weakening a little bit, low back to the south and west. is some of the rain and moisrenorth side of that in nearby north carolina now may end up building back to the west ly so today and tonight. the speed of that is somewhat in -- staying over the nearby coastal plains during the daylight hours with just a few isolated showers further west. some of the models are more aggressive at pushing the rain showers back to the south and the mid-and late-afternoon hours. so we have to be ready for that to turn out either way. we're giving it about a 60% chance of afternoon showers. and then about a 70% chance tonight as the bance is agreed upon coming southwest across the area. good chance of rain to start the day tomorrow, and then better chances shifting to the south and west during the afternoon and evening. in general, rain chances today about 60% overall, focused in the afternoon for during the morning to midday hours. and then on thursday, about 50% still. so staying unsettled. we

we have the south west flow that's been with us for the next several days. talking about matthew. a potent hurricane here with 100 mile-per-hour winds with the latest feature light that i've been talking about this morning. that is going to be the eye pressure down to 9.79. still moving to the west and expected to make the turn to the north. that'll happen this weekend. as it does that turn, it will continue to intense phi so that about -- intensify so that by the time it turns to jamaica, it will be 120 mile-per-hour winds. at this point here, it will likely bisect jamaica and haiti here. the cone covers both of them. if it stays over water, it has a better chance so that by the time remains as a cat-2 there. over cuba and heading into the bahamas. we are in the bahamas tuesday into wednesday and there after it becomes very difficult to forecast because we are so many days out. keep checking back with us. the models are keeping it east of florida but too close to be able to say we're out of the woods here. so again, it's something we have to pay attention to with matthew that's c
