i'm jen picciano. lydia esparra has the night off. a stand off with police shuts down interstate 71 near mansfield earlier today. it started with a rest stop shooting. shanice dunning is getting answers about what led to the interstate closing in b directions. shanice? >>reporter: police say the chase started at a rest stop in delaware county when a man started shooting a couple who had just stopped there, hitting the man six times. that sparked the police pursuit that ended with the suspect taking his own life. state highway patrol says the shooting happened around 11:00 a.m. the couple had just left the bathroom at the rest stop when the shooter got up from a nearby park bench and opened fire. the shooter took off towards mansfield and police chased him. down, bringing traffic to a halt for drivers. state highway patrol says during the chase the suspect drove over roads, spikes and crashed into a guardrail. police surrounded his vehicle and that's when they saw he had taken his own life with a gun. >> the male got out of the car to
