we'll head over to the finish line so we get the runners as they cross by eakins over closer to the arthis race. >> and they are are off. runners from all over the world here in philadelphia for the marathon a full 26.2 miles through several city neighborhoods fairmount park, manayunk, university city, old city right near fox 29 studios, and back up to finish near the art museum. this year, one big change. the half and full marathons were split up on different days. however, each year, the full weekend's worth events welcomes a total of roughly 30,000 runners. 60,000 spectators and 3,000 volunteers. a lot of people packing this area of the city which means heightened security screenings an number of street closures citywide that will remain through mid afternoon. we talked to one man running the race as a pacer. he's taken the year off from racing himself to be able to work with these runners and help them reach their goals. >> my group is 345. my responsibility to run even pace. from the start of the race and to the end of the race and slightly come under my time by like their seconds.
