. >> reporter: kate perkins will soon need a booster seat for three-year old emma growing fast. >> i want one, that will go in tight. >> reporter: mom of the two has plenty of good options, insurance institute for high waste safety reviewed 53 of the latest booster seat models, 48 of them got the highest rating called a best bet. >> things have improving since we first started evaluating boosters back in 2008, back then only about a quarter of the seats got top rating of best bet. >> reporter: booster seats are made for kids who have out grown their car seats but they are not big enough to use a seat belt on their own. only two seats are not recommended, the costco easy elite and costco high back two in 1dx. the insurance institute says belts fit improperly but the manufacturer, said in a statement that they are built to provide children excellent protection in the event of a crash. now three other booster seats that did not receive a top rating got a grade called check fit meaning they may work for some children in some vehicles. you can see full list, on cbs philly.com, reporting f
