in a t-v nine update... the state fire marshall says we might never know the cause of a thanksgiving day fire in central city. authorities say the fire started about eight thursday morning at the iowa gold distributing recycling business. smoke and flames from the fire could be seen for 10 miles. the fire destroyed two of the business's buildings and caused an air quality concern for marshal's office says the fire started in a west building. but because of the destruction, investigators say they are unable to determine the cause. cedar rapids police have identified the two people who died saturday when their vehicle crashed into a police s-u-v on i-380. they were martell watson and kaitlyn hall- stougard. watson, who was the driver, was 21, and hall- stougard was 22. both were from cedar rapids. crash on i-380 southbound near first avenue early saturday morning. that's when watson lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the passenger side and rear of the police cruiser. he and his passenger died at the

in a kcrg t-v nine update... the city of waterloo will pay more than 85 thousand dollars to settle another excessive force lawsuit. the suit involves a 13- year-old officer to "slow down" in 2014. video shows officer timothy everett making a hasty u-turn in his car to find out who had yelled took her to the ground after she refused to give her name. waterloo has already paid more than 255 thousand dollars to settle four other lawsuits brought by black residents in recent months. the iowa division of criminal investigations says cedar rapids police officer lucas jones fired his weapon at a man earlier this week during a traffic stop near coe college. and lucas was also a part of an officer-involved shooting last year. poli mitchell on a routine traffic stop on tuesday around one a-m. the two struggled during the stop and jones shot mitchell. mitchell suffered a serious injury and is still in the hospital. officer jones was cleared in a shooting on october 21st of last year. in that incident, police say jonathan go

kcrg t-v nine's jordee kalk joins us in studio. jordee, what are they doing? about 50 kids from lutheran and muslim youth groups gathered tonight. the two groups wanted to find a way to give back to their community. so they decided to make some lunch boxes, then deliver the meals to those who have to work tomorrow. st stephen's lutheran church was bustling with activity on the eve of thanksgiving. make 100 lunch boxes. and of course the lunches include the holiday staples, like turkey, carrots and even dessert. david 7:09, "this is just a good opportunity and is something we can help the community do the two youth group leaders wanted to find away the kids could work together to give back to their community. through some advice from the teens, the groups decided to make lunches for people who have to work during the holidays. afnanel 2:04, 'like the working working parents and i always think that that kind of group is overlooked, especially during the holidays the youth groups did the packaging wednesday night. on thursday they'll deliver the lunches. afnanel

wind: w 5-10 high: 40 in a t-v nine follow-up... a sexual abuse for what happened in an elementary school classroom. police arrested the 15 year old yesterday. he faces three counts of second degree sexual abuse. the marion school district contacted police on october 25th... .... about an allegation that a high school student had inappropriate ly touched a student at starry elementary. a marion woman who says her daughter was a victim of the abuse talked to t-v nine about the said the high school helper was left alone with children in the dark during rest time. she said starry elementary removed the helper from the classroom, but not from the building. chatanooga police say there were no drugs or alcohol in blood taken from the driver who crashed a bus full of kids on monday. that crash killed five kids and injured around 20 others. the driver, johnthony walker, is charged with five driving well above the 30 mile per hour speed limit on a narrow, winding road. he lost control of the bus, rolled it and wrapped it around a tree. polic
