two people face charges this morning for a pipeline protest in des moines. the des moines register says jessica reznicek and travis o'brennan face a trespassing charge. police say they refused to leave the iowa utility board building yesterday morning. that board gave dakota access permission to build the bakken oil pipeline through iowa. the protesters demanded a meeting with board members to possible violations of construction permits. "none of us want to do this but this is apparently what we have to go through just to have a meeting with publicly appointed officials. " the spokesperson for the board says they're in the middle of a lawsuit over the pipeline. he says that's why they won't address the protesters face to face.
