joining me is elijah cummings, ranking member of the house oversight committee, lead democrat on the committee. thank you for being with us. what are your concerns about the hotel? i assume it focuses on the gsa, general services administration, lease. but donald trump said he'll announce he's separating himself, disentangling himself from his businesses. >> andrea, he's not saying he's going to disinvest. and he -- what he's doing, basically, is he's -- i think he's kind of playing with the media and the public. basically what he said is i'm going to make an announcement on december 15th but he doesn't say exactly what he's going to do. with regard to this week, clearly, once he becomes president, he will have violated the lease and the lease clearly states you cannot be an elected official positive be part of that lease. this is just symbolic of the many conflicts that he has. anyone with 111 companies operating in 18 countries would have. and so, i think he needs to do what others have said. he needs to divest with regard to these various assets, put them in a true blind trust, no

this is he li -- elijah dawkins. he came from the bahamas in an undocumented status with his mother at age six months. elijah's mother was deported shortly thereafter, and he was raised by family in florida. always he thought he was an american citizen. after high school, he joined the army. this is when he served a tour in iraq. he came back and was mustered out of the army with an honorable discharge, after having the iraqi service medal having been awarded to him. he was assigned a very sensitive position as a photographer. promptly, after coming back and starting his studies, he decided to join the navy reserves. and, as such, he was given a top-secret clearance with his photography at a very sensitive location -- guantanamo, with all of the detainees. so, elijah is off his reserve duty. he's back resuming his studies at the university of north florida, and all of a sudden because at one point he had started to fill out a passport application but did not go through with that application, never turned it in -- so
