hayes home and your wife says 90 minutes. you have been married how long? mr. strauss: 1989, 27 years. brian: what has her attitude being about your obsession with presidents? mr. strauss: she is sort of does not mind it, because she had a fellowship at stanford and we drove across the country. there is a hoover institution at stanford and he went there. on the way, we go through iowa. we go through west branch, iowa. we stopped at herbert hoover's childhood farm. we run to the chicken coop and look at the cats. she finds her side enjoyments in my bizarre nature of looking at history. we have two kids, one is 25 and one is 21, both went to davidson. there is a historical marker when you go there -- woodrow wilson attended davidson for one year. brian: what do your kids think of this history stuff? mr. strauss: they pretend not to be like me, but i know that the younger one especially loves the nuances of history and almost studied history, although mostly indian history. brian: about out of time, but what are the chances i could get you to write a book on hamil

hayes. i heard of him, but i never met him. and he picked up the phone, mr.resident-elect, sir, how are you. it's wonderful to win, you know? think if i lost, he wouldn't have returned my call. [laughter] i don't know. where is greg? if i lost and called -- i don't think you would have called. i would have tried, but i think it would have been tougher, right? be what do you think, greg? he's sort of nodding, yes, you're right. [laughter] but i called greg, and i said it's really important. we have to do something because you have a lot of people leaving. and you have to understand, we can't allow this to happen anymore with our country. so many jobs are leaving and going to other countries. not just mexico, many, many countries. and china is making so much of our product that we'reç closing up a lot of plants. and, i mean, i wrote down some numbers that are incredible. but the numbers of manufacturing jobs that are lost especially in the rust belt, and the rust belt is so incredible, but we're losing companies. it's unbelievable, one after another. just one

hayes. this became the symbol of the job losses that mr. trump talked about during the campaign. he promised the people at carrier that he would make sure that those jobs did not migrate to mexico. after a phone call to greg hayes he made a deal and that is not happening. >> what does it mean for other companies which he threatened strongly are not going to be leaving this country without consequences. phil lebeau is on site there in indianapolis. a real feel good day there. >> absolutely. if you thought this was just a victory lap for donald trump and mike pence to celebrate the fact that they saved 1,100 jobs here in indiana, there was also a lot of campaigning and messages sent in terms of business in america. i call it the carrot and stick approach. if you are a company we are going to lower taxes and regulation. you not going to think about wanting to leave. the stick? if you do decide to leave we are going to make it tough for you at the border. we will make it tough for you in a number of ways and you better think twice before you think about moving your plant. did you catc
