to defend him incase this after his previous lawyer ditched the case saying williams did not have the money to pay him. katy zachry is live in the digital operations center. tell us more about the hearing. >> reporter: earlier this week, the judge was direct in his orders saying he is not delaying the case as williams searches for a new attorney that he can afford. when williams was in court he told the judge he has another attorney lined up. we'll see today if he was able to secure one. he's accused of accepting more than $100,000 in cash, trips, and gifts in exchange for his influence. as district attorney, he makes $175,000 a year. he says a costly divorce left him with financial problems. the city of philadelphia paid for her lawyer for two years as the fbi investigated him. that stopped when williams was indicted last week on extortion and corruption charges. to add to his money problems, williams owes the philadelphia board of ethics $62,000 for failing to report years of gifts. he maintains his innocence and is refuses to step down as d.a. live in the digital operations center, nbc10 news. >> thank y
