. ♪ this japanese drumming group ahead of the cherry blossom festival called kodo.ere to talk about more is leo, so glad you can join us. i've seen this in person, it's phenomenal. so much endurance, tell us about kodo. >> we are a japanese drumming group and play the t amouaiko, japanese drum and this is our 35th anniversary and we've been touring all over the united states, doing 29 shows in 22 cities and but we've been around all over the globe, 49 cities even done close to 6,000 performances and we're real excited to be here. >> whenever we have such wonderful and opportunity to go and see, it's also a teachable moment. can you tell us about the history of the taiko drums. >> they have been around for a very long time. they've been used in religious ceremonies or folklor e, but we use it as a performance, this kind of performing arts style has been around for i would say something like 50 or 60 years. it's relatively new but we like to bring this cultural and kind of -- we like experimenting with new things and bring it on the stage. >> you have to be in shape t
