my name is kylie and i have alopecia. >> when kylie was 12 years old, she started noticing spots and she started losing clumps of hair. she found out she had alopecia. >> i've been inspired by one of the sports illustrated diversity issue. >> they encouraged people to embrace themselves. >> i model acceptance. the ability to show your inner beauty and you don't necessarily need all of this to have all of that. >> once she changed her perception and mind-set, things started to change. >> when i lost my hair, i was so focused on what i had lost that i hadn't necessarily realized what i had gained. i gained the ability to finally love myself. >> i'm glad she's modeling that because so many women have alopecia and so many women are now talking about it. we featured my sister last september. as a result we got so much feedback. kylie has undergone several hair styles. she tried wigs and vitamins. she had about 30 steroid treatments before she just decided enough is enough. and her message is powerful. he even decided to showcase her beautiful bald head on her wedding day. >> no one should
