jake? >> jason carroll, thank you very much. i know a lot of native americans very offended by the calling of elizabeth warren pocahontas. they find it nothing but racist. today secretary of state rex tillerson launched a new pressure campaign today. he offered also diplomatic acts with pyongyang after president trump warned of a possible major, major conflict. what's the response to this full court press by the trump administration? >> reporter: diplomats are relieved to hear the most defined explanation of the administration's emerging policy on north korea to date, but it did come with a stern warning that the world must step up and act because tillerson said with the growing north korea threat, the world is running out of time. >> business as usual is not an option. >> reporter: with next racing towards a nuclear weapon that could reach the u.s., secretary of state rex tillerson in his first speech before the united nations, said time is running out and the world must act. >> failing to act now on the most pressing security

>> i don't think so, jake. but as somebody said this could be a cuban missile crisis in slow motion. i disagreed with the president's tweet about north korea by continuing to disrespect china. they disrespect and three previous agreements made by previous presidents to bring their acquired nuclear weapons and deliver them to a halt. the key to this is china. and chinese can put the brakes on this. i do not believe that kim jong-un is going to do that by himself. i don't think he's irrational but i don't think he's concerned about the welfare of his people to say the least. so i think china has a key to this and we got to tell the chinese that there's a whole lot at stake unless they bring this to a halt because if they get the weapon and they have the missile, we cannot afford to have that threat to the continental united states of america. >> what does that mean, though? the testing continues, they've conducted nine missile tests justin trump administration. obviously they have some nuclear capability. if the
