in the hills around saratoga, 65. in the storms obtd tonight it's going to be windy but not that extreme. we'll see gusts closer to 45 miles per hour 678 but its a soggy finish to your friday evening community. from san francisco to oakland you are seeing brief to moderate rain at times. heavier rain will be coming in later on tonight 79 right now, san jose not much hatching. but the radar picture isset going more activity. rain is coming in from off shore. in terms of wind speed, timing is identical to last night. from 8:00 tonight to midnight we will see another burst of heavierier winds, 30 to 45 miles per hour ghosts for the hills of the south bay and east bay. wind speeds drop back down in the morning. rainfall totals probably a third of what they were last night. maybe still as much as an inch or two in the hills of the north bay. generally less than a quarter inch a lots of spots including the cholera valley. some of this will carry over into the weekend. saturday we are looking at scattered showers. slight cha

but you notice here off to the west around saratoga, the west end of the santa clara valley seeing heavier rain. in palo alto, the commute along 1010, looks soggy. and 63 degrees. and further to the north now toward san francisco and the rain is falling pretty good for the last hour. across the golden gate bridge, temperature of about 56 degrees and a steady rain into the north bay. this system powerful looking when you see it on the satellite. the area of low pressure off the coast and a deep area of low pressure at 980 millibars and the front comes through and they boost our wind speeds probably up to 45 miles per hour and even higher just before 11:00 from the coast into the tri-valley and hilltop wind speeds have potential to get above 60 miles per hour. so the issue there, down trees on roadways and power outages are possible and in addition to heavy rain at times and isolated thunder and how much of this will stick around for tomorrow morning's commute in the full forecast in about eight minutes. >> thanks, rob. >>> like so many local cities, it is tough in orinda, a string of troubl

yesterday the widow of a man shot and killed by sheriff's deputies in saratoga filed a lawsuit following our exclusive investigation. >> senior investigative reporter stephen stock spent months digging into the circumstances that led to this shooting and he joins us now. what does the lawsuit claim? >> reporter: the santa clara county sheriff's office say deputies went to the 1200-block of titus avenue around dusk september 12th last year believing an elderly person inside had medical issues. sheriff's records show it was not the first time deputies had gone to the craig home. since 2011 they had been there there before for a vandalism call, suspicious circumstances and medical calls and this time deputies went for a wellness or welfare check and after knocking on the door for 50 minutes with no response deputies forced their way into the house. these pictures obtained by nbc bay area's investigative units showed the results after deputies broke down two doors before they confronted 86-year-old retired navy veteran eugene craig. craig was standing with his wife behind him in the living r
